So.. do you even really NEED a website? It’s a question that I’ve heard a lot of times from coaches and other service entrepreneurs that are new to business.

As a web designer, you probably expect me to say yes.

But the answer is of course no – you don’t NEED a website for your business. You can do business without a website. You could have a facebook page or an instagram and stick with that. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do I recommend having a website anyway if you want a legitimate, flourishing biz? Of course!!!

Your social media accounts and websites work together to represent you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The more opportunities people have to get to know you, to understand what you do and how you can help them, the better it is for you in terms of saving time & getting clients. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Your website is an opportunity to:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • 👉Represent you and what you’re all about without you having to actually interact in person⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • 👉Save you time because you have an all-in-one-place hub to send people to get more information about what you do.
  • 👉Adds credibility and legitimacy to your biz. If you have a well put-together website (instead of just an FB page), the truth is that people will take you more seriously. If they take you more seriously, they are more able to believe that you’ll be able to help them, which means more clients and customers.
  • 👉Your website helps people decide before you even speak if what you offer is right for them – and when you do speak, they will already know you’re the one. It does the selling for you. ⠀⠀⠀

The reality is that deep down, the new coaches and entrepreneurs who are asking this question know that a website is beneficial to them and makes them look more credible. They know this, and they DO want a great website to create a connection with the clients they want to work with.

The real deal behind the question is the belief that creating a website is a big pain and the ass, way too time consuming, and anything they made themselves would never be good enough to want to show anybody anyway. So instead they try to get off the hook by asking if a website is even really necessary! 🤪

Sorry girl. The answer is no it’s not necessary, but it certainly helps you get clients. And that’s what you want, right?

But don’t just make a website… make the right website to connect you with clients⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Of course, just having a website isn’t all that and a bag of chips. It’s only going to do the above if your brand’s essence comes through and your copywriting (aka your writing) is on point – which honestly is the more important part.

Your website, much like your social media channels, is simply a vehicle for your brand and your message (which are the real drivers of your business).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If people come to your website and it doesn’t match who you are, your energy, your soul, your essence – AND they don’t understand how you can help them… there isn’t a whole lot of point to having a website.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Even if you decide you aren’t going to have a website and are going to stick with social media only, you still need a well-defined brand and effective communication to come through there, otherwise your social media channels isn’t going to get you clients either! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So my advice?

If the whole website building thing is stressing you out, put it aside and first focus on your brand & message.

THIS is what actually connects you to clients and gets your services booked, no matter the medium. And once you have this sorted, creating your website will be 1000x easier. 👏
