Creating branding and a website for your coaching or services business that really represents who you are can be a huge pain in the ass.

All you want is to be able to send people to a place to get more information about what you offer, something that has your vibes and looks professional… where they can get to know you, and decide whether they want to become your client or not.

So you fire up Wix. Or Squarespace. Or WordPress. And quickly realize trying to make something that isn’t bland AF without spending way too much time trying to decipher tech stuff is… well.. not nearly as easy as you hoped.

In the end you either have something that barely looks like it made it out of the 90s, or maybe it looks decent but is just SO not who you are. Like no matter what it’s just not going to give the right impression. It doesn’t feel good.

So you don’t want to show it to anyone. And so you never do. And those clients you were hoping to connect with just flutter away.

And what was even the point?

If that story sounds like you, I want to introduce you to a new-ish website platform that is making waves with female entrepreneurs (including big names like Jenna Kutcher and Jasmine Starr). It’s called Showit.

Here’s why women are fleeing Wix, Squarespace, and WordPress in favour of Showit:

1. It gives you SO much freedom to design your website exactly the way you want

Literally every other website builder that I’ve ever used works on a grid system.

As a result, you can never seem to put things where you want to put them. Want to move that image up or down, or stack things on top of each other? Nah, girl. Don’t even try. You’ll end up crying in frustration. Often code is required to get things looking exactly the way you want, so your creativity just lives and dies on the page.

In the Showit builder, on the other hand, you can freely move all the graphics and elements around so you have 100% control over the design. You can do lots of out-of-the-ordinary things that you don’t see on typical boring, boxy websites.

Overall, it feels like working in Canva, or Photoshop, or any other graphic design program where you have tons of freedom. Here’s a video I made showing how it works:

Now I’m not saying there is NO learning curve to Showit at all… anything new is always going to have a learning curve. I’m just saying if you value creativity and visual control, it’s way easier than every other builder on the market.

2. There are tons of gorgeous, feminine website templates available

So despite Showit having all that visual control, it doesn’t mean just firing it up and whipping up a perfectly good looking and well-designed site from scratch is a piece of cake.

For the average female coach or service provider, you’re going to want to start your website from a template which you can then have full control in customizing to suit your branding and personality.

And you’re going to want to start from a template that is feminine and suited for coaches and service providers. This only makes sense.

Before I knew Showit existed, I designed sites, including my own, using Elementor (which is a page builder that works on WordPress). Although I am a fan of Elementor generally, it always bugged me that it feels like a very masculine company with very masculine templates, built for masculine e-commerce and real estate businesses.

Showit, on the other hand, was first built for photographers and has a very feminine feel about it, and allows you to create more feminine designs right in the builder.

As a result, there are a ton of a gorgeous website templates from lots of female designers available. Yay!

I just launched a fleet of my own website templates for Showit, structured strategically for coaches and service providers to get clients. Check em out:

3. It’s does everything the average entrepreneur needs without the plugin headaches

As mentioned, I’ve always been exclusively a WordPress gal in the past. Everybody says “use WordPress” because millions of plugins can be used with it, and therefore has unlimited functionality.

This is all true and WordPress is great in that regard. However, plugins can be major headaches and conflict with each other causing all sorts of issues. The vast majority of people have no need for all sorts of unusual plugins and it just causes more problems than it solves.

What I love about Showit is that it bakes the important functionality right into the platform so eliminates the need for most common plugins (like those for security, speed, SEO, image optimization). And you can easily embed anything else you need from external services right into the pages (like a calendar widget, sign up form, Instagram feed etc)

For the average business owner, Showit can accommodate everything you’re ever going to need without the added headache.

Plus, Showit actually integrates with the WordPress platform for blogging… so if you do need some very particular and advanced functionality (95% of people don’t), you can use WordPress plugins if you are on the highest Showit subscription.

4. Showit has great support and will transfer your blog posts & domain for you for free

Showit is a monthly subscription service and included in the subscription is awesome support… they have a chat box right in the interface and they always reply quickly.

I honestly can’t say the same for Elementor… in my experience, their support, ahem… sucks. I will do anything I possibly can to prevent having to contact them… but with Showit I feel really supported and have no problem asking questions whenever needed.

The other awesome thing about Showit is that included in your subscription, they will transfer blog posts for you from Squarespace or WordPress. And when you are ready to make your new site live, they will go and redirect your domain name for you (which is a pretty techy part of launching your site that they take off your plate).

Overall, Showit rocks.

So there you have it. If this is the first time you’ve heard of Showit, it probably won’t be the last as more and more women make the jump.
